Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall visited Singapore on 1st November 2017, and a dinner was held in the honour of the royal entourage at Eden Hall – the official residence of the British High Commissioner. The Order of St John was represented at the dinner by the Prior, Dr Teh Peng Hooi KStJ, accompanied by Dr Selan Sayampanathan OStJ, Vice-Chairman of the National St John Council, and Director of the St John Ambulance Association.

The Order of St John is a British Royal Order of Chivalry, and awards of the Order are presented in the name of the Sovereign Head, HM Queen Elizabeth II. The Prince of Wales, as Heir Apparent, will one day inherit the Queen’s position as Sovereign Head of the Order.

The Order is most commonly known for its St John Ambulance movement, and as is with all national and community events, members of the St John Ambulance Brigade were also on site to provide First Aid coverage for the royal entourage and their guests at Eden Hall. It was undoubtedly a privilege to have been of service to Their Royal Highnesses, and we hope that they have had an enjoyable visit to Singapore.
