Courses and Schedules

Adult First Aid (Classified as AFA. Also known as Standard First Aid. Available in English and Mandarin classes)

This 3-day (21 hours) course covers a wide range of topics such as shock, wounds, bleeding, fractures, suffocation and unconsciousness. Participants are taught both theory and hands-on skills such as bleeding control, bandaging, abdominal/chest thrust for choking, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), along with several other techniques and skills.

 

A 3-day (17 hours) Refresher Adult First Aid (classified as RAFA) course is also available for those who wish to renew their certificates.

 

Adult First Aid+AED (Classified as AFA+AED. Available in English and Mandarin classes)

This 3-day (22 hours) course covers a wide range of topics such as shock, wounds, bleeding, fractures, suffocation and unconsciousness. Participants are taught both theory and hands-on skills such as bleeding control, bandaging, abdominal/chest thrust for choking, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), along with several other techniques and skills. In addition, participants will also learn how to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

 

A 3-day (18 hours) Refresher Adult First Aid+AED (classified as RAFA+AED) course is also available for those who wish to renew their certificates.

 

Basic First Aid (Classified as BFAC. Only available in English classes)

 

This 2-day course (15 hours) is catered for youth below 16 years old. The content of the course is similar to that of Adult First Aid, but the treatment is made simpler for easy learning. Schools and organisations who wish to educate their junior youth in First Aid may choose to select this instead.

Occupational First Aid/AED (Classified as OFAC. Available in English and Mandarin classes)
(Accredited by the Ministry of Manpower)

This is a 25-hr course required by companies for compliance with the Workplace Safety and Health Act 2006. Besides first aid and AED, participants also learn about the legislation covering first aid as well as safety, chemicals, and accident prevention in workplaces.

 

A 3-day (19.5 hours) Refresher Occupational First Aid (classified as ROFAC) course is also available for those who wish to renew their certificates.

Child First Aid (Classified as CFAC. Available only in English classes)
(For Parents and Childcare Personnel. Accredited by the National First Aid Council)

 

This 2-day (24 hours) child first aid course with theory and hands-on learning, covers important aspects of first aid and life-saving for children. This will equip participants with the skills to render first aid in emergencies at home or outside.

 

A 2-day (16 hours) Refresher Child First Aid (classified as RCFA) course is also available for those who wish to renew their certificates.

Life Support Courses (Available in English and Mandarin classes)

St John Singapore also provides several Life Support Courses such as:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support with Automated External Defibrillator (BCLS+AED)
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation with Automated External Defibrillator (CPR+AED)

Certificate is valid for 2 years.
